.

More about Sega's next generation of Phantasy Star Online was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show, and New Genesis is shaping up for a Substantial upgrade from the present game. There are still many details to be revealed as time goes one, but a few significant things like combat and the planet are much clearer. Hiro Arai from Sega has been live for PSO2 Meseta nearly an hour to show footage off of gameplay and also talk about what new items are on the way. Not much was mentioned about the current game and the upgrade coming alongside NG's release apart from the graphical update, which will be looking great.

Maps are no more split into regions with loading screens. NG is going to have totally open world in the home base to the field. The TGS footage showed off a gorgeous new world that's a significant update from the current game. Blades of grass blow in the wind, lush forests lie on the opposite side of valleys and frosty mountains can be seen at the distance. Arai mentions that distinct regions can be reached easily simply by traversing the world. It looks like this is the planet Naberious from the present game, with woods being next to tundra and other areas. Areas are still technically divided up, but there is no loading between them. While it has not been straight mentioned, an open world like this suggests there might not be single party places . Most revealed in the footage were multi-party areas where there were other gamers. The cap for multi-party places has been lowered to eight down from twelve at the current PSO2, but that you see will differ from area to area.

Weather is creating a better comeback as it affects dynamically and may impact the battlefield, even though the size of the impact wasn't spoken of. Time may also change, and footage showed some nice touches such as fireflies in the woods at night. There is no word on quick travel, vehicles or mounts nevertheless, but Sega has implemented some new methods for players to move fast across this large new universe. Players will have the ability to run quicker after a dodge both in and out of battle. A blue streak follows underfoot, so you'll know you're doing it right once you see it.

The other significant addition to motion shown off at the initial NG trailer is that the glide. It goes as far as a few of those screenshots have made it look. Players may get to high ground and jump off to slide and receive pretty damn much through the map. Like in Breath of the Wild, you will have the ability to make you're way up a mountain to slide away from -- but minus anything inhibiting you like stamina. It will also make for some dramatic entrances in to battle. Sega mentioned that gathering and crafting would be getting an overhaul, and while we didn't have a look at crafting, we did observe just how much nicer it is to snag items within the specialty. Gathering can be done on the fly, very similar to cheap Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta Monster Hunter: World. Get close to an item, and tap a button. Fruit can be picked from trees, there are new docile creatures that may be searched for meat and other things and healing items are seen throughout the property as green glowing indicators called Resta Signs. It is a lot more intuitive than the current game.
